The Fail, Fight and Fly Business Sequence.

0

I call the fail, fight and fly sequence of events, the ‘triple F effect’ and it happens to us all. Just like the seasons in a year, we all go through the triple effect at a particular time in our lives.

Fail – we all fail! This is one of the things I had to come to terms with in life.  Melancholic like me find it hard to deal with failure even on a good day.  Rather than fail, we will prefer not to try.  For many years, I was crippled by the fear of ‘will my idea be good enough?’  As time and opportunities passed by, I realized that many people who were just as fearful eventually find the courage to jump in and get things done.  So I decided to join the movement too with the understanding that failure is not the end of the world.  It is just the acquisition of knowledge on how not to get things done.

Are you afraid of failure and is it stopping you from taking a step towards success? Failure can happen to even the best laid plans, so we must learn to look past failure and see the lesson beyond it. This quote by Orison Swett Marden sums it all up ” Most of our obstacles would melt away if, instead of cowering before them, we should make up our minds to walk boldly through them.”

Fail, Fight and Fly

Fight – I love this definition of ‘Fight’ which is ‘to contend in any manner; strive vigorously for or against something’. If you want to run a successful business, you must learn to fight. You must fight procrastination and every bad habit that stands in your way. You fight to push your product to the forefront of the pack. You fight to stay on top of your game. You contend with obstacles that want to stop you from advancing forward – personal and business ones.

The question I want to ask you is – what are you willing to fight for in 2017? Will it be business as usual or are you ready to make your mark in your industry?   Are you willing to fight for your idea and ensure it gets to the marketplace? Are you willing to fight for your business vision and goals to ensure it attains the success you deserve? Are you willing to fight those distractions so you can get the promotion you deserve at work?  Why not make 2017 the year you choose to step up higher so you can soar with the best of them.

Fly – if you want to fly, you have to be ready to go through the two steps above. Do not let failure or the fear of it hold you to ransom. Do not let the idea of combat or striving for your place in the world overcome you. Let the lessons you learn from failure propel you to fight for what you want. Clear the clutter along your path so you can take flight. Just like an aeroplane needs a clear runway to take off, so you need a clear path before you to soar beyond the obstacles.

This new year, memorise this quote and let it encourage you to get through those obstacles. “If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant: if we did not sometimes taste of adversity prosperity would not be so welcome.” Anne Bradstreet.

You were born to excel with your gifts and talents. Do not let life rob you of the success you deserve. Set definite goals this year – outline the steps to achieve these goals and pave way for an enjoyable and viable future.
